Upgraded Magnesium Alloy Die Casting Technology Solves Production Challenges for Thin-walled Complex Structural Parts

Magnesium alloy die casting is the mainstream forming process for lightweight components. Nevertheless, magnesium alloy features high chemical activity and difficult fluidity control. Thin-walled and special-shaped complex structural parts have long suffered from abundant forming defects and low yield rates. In recent years, the industry has continuously optimized die casting parameters and mold cooling system design to break through technical bottlenecks in manufacturing magnesium alloy die castings.

Supported by self-developed mold R&D capability, Fanghao Lightweight Technology carries out process iteration for complex magnesium alloy die castings. It optimizes the die casting runner and temperature control scheme to reduce common defects such as pores and shrinkage porosity. After die casting, CNC precision machining is applied to process key positions like mounting holes and fitting surfaces. Subsequent processes including anodizing and spraying improve the corrosion resistance of products. The integrated production layout enables mass production of various special-shaped magnesium alloy shells and brackets, meeting the high-precision requirements of high-end equipment for lightweight components.
